De l’arbre au gâteau is a project within the framework of an ongoing project Claire Chassot and Jonathan De Maeyer started in October 2024. This project explores hedges - not as barriers, but as sites of inevitable exchange. Hedges and fruit trees often resist their own roles, becoming porous, transitional zones. Fruit trees offer without taking into account who picks up: passing animals or the human owner of the land.

In Anderlecht, Brussels we designed and built ladders to pick apples in the streets around Parc Liverpool and made apple pie together with the kids of the neighbourhood.
